The Jeepney in Northern Mindanao

Today I was tasked by my parents to fix the car, and the first step to fixing it is to buy a new battery. Immediately, I took the opportunity to go out and shoot. It has been a very long time since I last went out for a 'photowalk'. Because that's the thing, if you're a photographer or just starting out as a photographer, you must realize that photography is a skill, you won't improve if you won't go out and shoot.

So anyway, I rode a jeepney, and while enroute, I had to constantly scan and look for a story to frame and share. At some point I had to alight the jeepney, and for some reason I headed towards the mall, went up to the overpass, lo and behold a story unfold.

When you think of a Philippine Jeepney, you get to sight picture in your mind of the long & slender Sarao motors design usually seen in the nation's capital: Manila. But it isn't the case down south.
Iligan City, Mindanao, Philippines - In this cornering shadow, Jeepneys emerge. Short, stout, and some are Mitsubishi L300's converted to become a regular jeepney. Following Cebu's coding system, a combination of a number and a letter are placed on top of the windshield indicating the route taken by the jeepney. So you better check the coded routes before even trying to board one.

Well that's all I can say about the jeepneys here in Iligan. See more of my work in http://instagram.com/kev.again
